The Big Task
You will be an ongoing support system for our Plumbing, HVAC, and Drain crews across the Bay Area.
Key Sub Tasks

- Oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of District supplies, equipment and mail; assure supplies, materials, equipment, food and mail are delivered in a timely manner.
- Oversee and participate in the receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications and packing slips; contact vendors regarding shortages, damaged goods or other discrepancies; complete receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports.
- Oversee and participate in the stocking of products; plan storage locations; determine proper location of supplies to allow for maximum space utilization.
- Serve as a lead over an assigned warehouse function; train and provide lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff; prioritize work assignments; participate in the hiring and screening of new applicants as assigned.
- Fill, prioritize and process requisitions; pull, pack and ship items or supplies to District locations according to established procedures; drive a truck to deliver supplies and equipment as needed; maintain backorder records.
- Answer telephones and greet and assist visitors; provide information and resolve issues concerning requisitions, stock on hand, back orders and shipment discrepancies, damage or storage; meet with vendors and sales representatives as necessary.
- Issue stock from stores to various personnel; monitor stock levels; reorder items in accordance with established guidelines; complete inventory control cards; input date and quantity; forward to appropriate District personnel.
- Prepare, maintain and submit a variety of records and reports related to warehouse operations; prepare paperwork for return for credits and verify receipt of returned for credits merchandise.
- Oversee preparation of inventory records as assigned; participate in tagging fixed assets and maintaining associated records.
- Oversee and participate in the performance of periodic and annual physical inventories; conduct physical inventories.
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and postage meters; operate a computer and assigned software to input data and generate reports.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition; maintain correct temperature conditions for food storage and assure food service storage areas are in compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations.
- Make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.
- Serve as the Warehouse Supervisor in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor as assigned.
- Lead to enhance communication between the warehouse, procurement/purchasing and site services, immediately lessoning the friction between the groups.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Ensure all personnel comprehend safety regulations according to OSHA regulations to include safety classes given weekly.
- Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
